“Community Rockin’ With Hattiesburg High”- July 22

Hattiesburg High School is hosting “The Community Rockin’ with HHS” event on Saturday, July 22 at 10 a.m. in the HHS Auditorium. This event targets all HHS parents in an effort to bridge the gap between home, school and community.  
What to Expect:
  • Meet the Eric Boney, HHS Principal and Mayor Toby Barker
  • Motivational Rally with Rev. Robert Johnson and Rev. Carlos Wilson
  • Informative Sessions for Parents and Students
  • Free food and entertainment
  • Free transportation will be provided to and from the event at select locations. (Please see the bus route on the map below.)

Back to School! It’s Registration Time!


To register any student in the Hattiesburg Public School District for the 2017-2018 school year, the following documents are required:
  1. Current/Valid Form of Identification- Driver’s License/State Issued ID
  2. Certificate of Immunization Compliance Form No. 121 (Up to Date Immunization Documentation, School Ready for Kindergarten and 7th graders include the T-DAP)
  3. Guardianship Documents (if applicable)
  4. Two Proofs of Residency (Documents with a Post Office Box as an address will NOT be accepted.
  5. NEW Students to Hattiesburg Public School District must also bring the following to registration: Report Card/Withdrawal Form from previous school, Copy of Birth Certificate, and Social Security Card
The parent(s) or legal guardian(s) of a student seeking to enroll must provide Hattiesburg Public School District with at least one item from Group 1 AND one item from Group 2 below as proof of address residency:

Group 1

  • Filed Homestead Exemption Application form
  • Mortgage documents or property deed
  • Apartment/Home lease/Rental agreement (must be current)

**Any unofficial Lease Agreement (handwritten or computer generated) must be notarized

Group 2

  • Current Utility Bill (dated within 30 days of enrollment)
  • Examples of Acceptable Bills: electricity, gas, water, landline telephone, cable TV or satellite TV

**NOT Acceptable as proof of residency: driver’s license, voter identification, or cellular phone bill

HHS's Scott Waldrop, Derek Collins, and Kerrington Anderson with multiple National Awards
HHS Forensics Seniors Derek Collins and Kerrington Anderson united the crowns by winning the National Speech and Debate Association’s National Championship in Birmingham this past weekend. It marks the first time a Mississippi school has won the NSDA Championship in a main Speech event. The duo also won the Alabama Bowl for winning the Final Round on stage at the Birmingham Convention Center which was streamed live nationally. This after winning the NIETOC National Championship, uniting the crowns. Collins was also a finalist for National Student of the Year. The team received a National School of Honor award and Waldrop received his Triple Diamond award for coaching excellence. Waldrop’s students have earned over 100,000 tournament points!

HHS’s Scott Waldrop, Derek Collins, and Kerrington Anderson with multiple National Awards


HHS Forensics student Derek Collins has been named a finalist for the 2017 William Woods Tate, Jr., National Student of the Year by the National Speech and Debate Association! Collins will compete at the National Championships in Birmingham in June. He marks the third HHS student named a national finalist with the first two, Williams ’10 and Adams ’16, being named National Student of the Year.
