Hattiesburg High School Forensics competed at the Magnolia (Mississippi) District Congressional Debate qualifiers at Pascagoula High School this weekend winning the District Championship! Sophomores Kelly Li and Owen Sayre finished 1st and 2nd alternates respectively. HHS only had these two students in the Senate chambers facing much larger groups from other MS schools.
HHS Forensics Director Scott Waldrop said he is very proud of these students. “They worked so hard in preparation for this State title. Their discipline, focus, and specialization in debate events made the difference! GO TIGERS!”
HHS now prepares for the State speech and interpretation championships.
