On Friday, November 18, the Hattiesburg High School Jr. BETA Club officers gave thanks to the custodial staff for making their school sparkle by presenting each custodian with a $25 gift card for the Thanksgiving holiday. Mary Bethune Alt. Center Elementary and Middle School students recently took a field trip to the WDAM studios in Laurel. Students were given a tour by WDAM Weathercaster Rex Thompson. They observed how meteorologists predict and analyze weather patterns. Some familiar faces in the newly formed Southern Miss Debate Society. Photos from the photography field to Ohr-O'Keefe Museum of Art in Biloxi, MS. Students viewed various masterworks by photographer Herman Leonard: whose photographs included jazz icons such as: Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra and many others. The C-SPAN Digital Bus came to Hattiesburg High School as part of its travels across America. Teachers and students attended information sessions on the bus that explained more about what C-SPAN is, how it is funded, and what it offers.
