NASA VISITS LILLIE BURNEY

On Friday, Jan 27, Lillie Burney Elementary hosted a variety of displays and activities care of NASA's Stennis Space Center in Bay St. Louis. Students got to see robotics demonstrations, some interesting properties of liquid nitrogen, the effects of ultra-violet rays, how astronauts eat and live in space, and had their picture taken with Orbie - the giant inflatable astronaut. BURNEY PINK PROG GETS DONATION

Recently representatives from Nicholson & Co. presented a donation check in the amount of $250 to the Lillie Burney PINK (Pretty, Intelligent, Nice, & Kind) Organization.  PINK seeks to build the self-esteem and self-worth of young girls by changing their outlook on life, broadening their horizons, and helping them to empower themselves. Leadership PIne Belt Donation

Mr. Bacchus accepted a $2,000 donation from the ADP's Leadership Pine Belt 2011 Team 1 today (Aug 31). They presented the check at Lillie Burney and took time to visit with Lillie Burney's Pre-K students.
