Hattiesburg HS Forensics captured the Overall Sweepstakes Championship at what was the largest tournament in Oak Grove High School Forensics history. 27 schools and over 350 students competed in 21 competitive events before HHS claimed 1st place for the second year in a row. The team tied the record for most points recorded at the Oak Grove Warrior Invitational that HHS set in 2005!

HHS was joined at the event by NR Burger Middle School who made their debut on the Mississippi Forensics scene. "It was wonderful to see two HPSD buses roll up at OG with over 60 students. I don't think the other teams knew what was about to happen. I received so many compliments on the NR Burger team and, of course, coaches of other programs were asking questions about how to start middle school programs," said HHS Forensics Coach Scott Waldrop.

HHS swept numerous events and the NR Burger team advanced to semifinal competition.
