HHS wins Mississippi Forensic League Congressional Debate Championship (HOUSE)

Hattiesburg HS Forensics competed at the 2013 Mississippi Forensic League Congressional Debate Championships held this past weekend at Murrah HS. HHS fielded 10 students in the competition and 5 of those students advanced from preliminary chambers of competition to the super session (Jonas Johnson-Senate, Chancellor Strange-Senate, Lev Gurt-House, Robert Green-House, and Parker Krag-House).

Parker Krag (pictured) led the Tiger debaters in the House winning 1st place and claiming the MFL Congressional Debate Championship (HOUSE).  He received all 1st place votes from the distinguished panel of judges representing Mississippi College School of Law.  He will represent Mississippi at the John C. Stennis National Championships in Birmingham, Alabama, this June.  This marks the second Krag family member to represent Mississippi at the national championships (Grant Krag, '10).
Additionally, Parker Krag was named an Academic All-American last week for a record total at HHS this year at five awardees.  (Jonas Johnson, Katherine Waldrop, Robert Green, and Paris McClendon).
