Hattiesburg Early Learning Collaborative

The Hattiesburg Early Learning Collaborative is one of only 18 early learning collaboratives in Mississippi. We are the largest early learning collaborative and are funded to serve 329 preschoolers. All 20 HELC classrooms are provided with the same resources, assessments, high-quality curriculum, and experienced teachers.

Schools

Our students inspire us by their courage and perseverance, and are a reminder that obstacles can be overcome when you have just one person cheering you on to the finish line.

Hattiesburg, Mississippi – Mayor Toby Barker has added an agenda item for the Hattiesburg City Council meeting on April 16 to reappoint Dr. Eddie A. Holloway to the Board of Trustees for the Hattiesburg Public School District.

“The Hattiesburg Public School District has seen a remarkable renaissance in recent years, and that rise is a testament to strong, results-oriented leadership from our teachers, principals, administrators, superintendent and school board members,” said Barker. “Dr. Holloway has been instrumental in the effort to raise expectations, promote excellence and celebrate student achievement, and I am proud to reappoint him to the Board of Trustees for another term.”

In his role on the school board, Holloway will continue to work with his fellow board members to develop district policies and oversee the distribution of district resources. He initially joined the board in 2019 and currently serves alongside these Board of Trustees members:
