Brittany Lyons is the owner and principal designer at Brittany Lyons Interiors, a boutique interior design firm based in Dallas, Texas. Brittany’s mission as an interior designer is to help clients experience self-care through peaceful, functional design. She believes that our homes should be a place of refuge after the chaos we often face in everyday life.

“Our homes should be a reflection of who we are and what speaks to us. We should be greeted with such a design experience, at home, that we are nurtured into becoming our best selves with textures, colors, and fabrics that make it that much easier for us to reset. It might seem interesting to describe design in this way, but I believe that enhancing spaces in our homes will ultimately enhance our lives,” spoke Lyons. 

While her main focus is residential projects, she has completed several commercial projects. She works on renovations, redesigns, and new construction projects. Most of her current projects are kitchen and bathroom renovations, but her favorite space to transform is the bedroom. She believes bedroom design is so integral because it is the most personal space in our home and it is where we sleep. “The right space can induce a beautiful moment of rest, and so many people have negative relationships with sleep these days.”

Brittany’s path to design was something that kind of “just happened” when a former tiger classmate reached out to her after seeing Instagram posts of spaces in her own home. That former classmate asked if she’d be interested in helping her design her new home, and Brittany was thrilled to accept the offer. That was in January of 2015 and her business has been growing ever since. In September 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, Brittany decided to take a leap of faith and pursue her design dreams full-time by opening up her firm in Dallas, TX. She has been able to help so many individuals, couples, and families with various design problems in their own homes and create atmospheres that nurture rest and relaxation. She received the “Best of Houzz Service” award three years in a row. 

The job of a designer is to be an advocate for the client and help them think through real-life scenarios that only an experienced designer can bring to the table. This is a job that Brittany doesn’t take lightly and while she has been designing spaces since 2015, she always wants to remain in a position to learn and grow. She is grateful to have been entrusted to curate beautiful spaces on behalf of her clients and thus continue to be a positive influence in her community by not only creating stunning atmospheres but jobs with her projects. 

Brittany earned a Bachelor of Arts from Millsaps College. She is a native of Hattiesburg, MS, and married to Karlos Lyons. She enjoys traveling with her husband, going to design conferences, eating good food, and spending time with family.
