As a high school student, Joshua was celebrated as an Outstanding HHS Ambassador and honored with the Principal’s Award, the Von Kyle Hersey Memorial Award, and the Instrumentalist Magazine Merit Award. His leadership qualities and academic determination were unmistakable, and his involvement in the HHS Marching Band, Ambassadors, and Beta Club illustrated his deep-rooted commitment to excellence. These experiences were the bedrock upon which he built his future.

Joshua took this foundation to Alcorn State University, where he earned his Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice in 2021, graduating with top honors. His time at Alcorn was marked by a fervent dedication to leadership and community, showcased through his membership in the prestigious National Society of Leadership and Success, where he was honored as "Mr. National Society of Leadership and Success." As a proud Sounds of Dyn-o-Mite Marching Band member, Joshua performed at nationally recognized events like the SWAC Championship and NFL halftime shows, channeling his “Burg Built” pride onto some of the biggest stages. He continued his journey of excellence by joining the Delta Alpha Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma in the summer of 2024, holding the proud position of "Deuce," where he furthers his commitment to brotherhood and community service.

Joshua’s contributions, however, extend far beyond academics and performance. Rooted in his service dedication, he has become an anchor of support and leadership within the Hattiesburg community. At Sweet Pilgrim Baptist Church, where his journey of service began as a young teen, Joshua now leads the church’s young adult programs, guiding and mentoring the next generation as Young Adult Director. His roles in the youth ministry, mime ministry, and as lead puppeteer reflect a lifelong devotion to uplifting his community and fostering a legacy of compassionate service.

Professionally, Joshua continues to give back to his alma mater as the adjunct Low Brass Director for the Hattiesburg High School Tiger Band, inspiring students with the same spirit and drive that propelled him forward. In addition, his work at the Hattiesburg Police Department’s Records Division speaks to his unwavering commitment to public service and bettering his hometown.
