Testing
The Testing department oversees and facilitates the administration of the statewide assessment program.
The statewide assessment program is known as the Mississippi Academic Assessment Program (MAAAP) and assesses students in Math and ELA in grades 3-8, high school students in Algebra I, Biology I, English II, U.S. History. MAAP also assesses students in science in grades 5 and 8 and is known as MAAP-SCI. MAAP also provides high-quality alternate assessments for students with significant cognitive disabilities (SCD). The assessment is known as MAAP-A for Alternate.
The testing department is also responsible for administering the American College Test (ACT) for all high school juniors, the Mississippi K-3 Assessment Support System (MKAS2), and LAS Links, the English Language Proficiency Test and the MS Career Planning & Assessment System (CPAS2) Assessment for Career & Technical Education students.
