Carlos Twillie is a proud native of Hattiesburg, MS. He is a 2001 graduate of Hattiesburg High School and a 2007 graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration.
Carlos is the Owner/Operator of Twillie Philly Gourmet Subs and More. Twillie Philly has been in business for ten years and has expanded by owning and operating a food truck as an extension of the original brick-and-mortar establishment. The Twillie Philly brand has become a household name in Hattiesburg and surrounding areas solely due to the relentless efforts of Mr. Twillie.
Mr. Twillie has always had an entrepreneurial spirit, having started some of his first businesses as a teenager. As time passed, he was given opportunities to co-develop three separate business ventures, all while obtaining his college degree - and this is how the Twillie Philly brand was born. Having worked in several capacities prior to owning his own business, Mr. Twillie knew that he had something special when he created the “Twillie Philly” sandwich. He has monetized and grown that idea into the restaurant we all know and love.
While solidifying his work as an entrepreneur, Mr. Twillie also serves his community with the same vigor and vitality. He has donated his time, over 400 hours, and resources to community service-based organizations such as D.R.E.A.M. of Hattiesburg, AmeriCorps, and the Mississippi Youth Challenge Academy.
Mr. Twillie believes in the idea of “paying it forward,” so he is laying the foundation for his non-profit organization, “Let’s Save Our Sons,” by offering his first seminar entitled “Free Game.” This seminar series will provide information and inspiration to young men ages 10-16.
Mr. Twillie is married to Mrs. Brandi K. Twillie and is the proud father to his 8-year-old daughter, Allyson Kyle Twillie.
