Chief LaTosha Myers, a lifelong resident of Hattiesburg, MS is a 16-year veteran of law enforcement. Currently Chief of the Hattiesburg Public School District, Myers was formerly a Lieutenant at the Hattiesburg Police Department where she served as the commander over the Domestic Violence and Sex Crime Unit for 14 years.
Chief Myers received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with an emphasis in Juvenile Justice and a Master of Arts in Administration of Justice from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master of Art in Counseling Psychology from the University of West Alabama.
Chief Myers is a Certified Instructor for the State of MS in Domestic Violence, Women’s Awareness and Response, Crisis Intervention, and Officer Survival. She is also an instructor at the Hattiesburg Police Academy, Southern Regional Public Safety Institute Academy, and Pine Belt Mental Health Services.
Chief Myers is the owner of HYPED Consulting Firm which offers specialized training in various law enforcement, health/fitness, and nutrition training. As a personal trainer, she provides free workouts and weight loss management for the community. She also pens poetry which can be written upon request for specific topics and events.
Chief Myers has been decorated as a Distinguished Officer for the Hattiesburg Police Department; Instructor of the Year for the Southern Regional Public Safety Institute (SRPSI) Academy at Camp Shelby for four consecutive years; PRVO Community Service Award; IBEOP Woman of the Year; Department of the Army 177th Armored Brigade and Department of the Army 158th Infantry Brigade Certificate of Appreciation for collaboration with SHARP Sexual Harassment/Assault Response Program, VFW Post 5397 Community Service Award;
-Established Hattiesburg’s first Domestic Violence Unit at HPD.

She has spearheaded the campaign “It May Hurt to Walk Away” 5K Run and 1Mile Fun Walk to raise funds and awareness for the Domestic Abuse Family Shelter for numerous years.
A musician and songwriter, Chief Myers released her first gospel CD entitled, LaTosha Myers presents Collective Praise “In Your Presence” in 2011.
Chief Myers is a lifelong member of Pathway Christian Fellowship where she serves as Worship Leader under the leadership of her Father, Pastor Donnie Myers. She is a mother of two children; Addison and Marlon Mitchell, II.
Chief Myers is a proud member of the Hattiesburg High School graduating class of 1995 where she continues to serve her community and promote the overall health and well-being of humanity.
