Mavis A. Creagh is an advocate for individuals with social, economic, housing, health, and educational challenges. She has dedicated over 20 years of service throughout Mississippi and beyond.
She is an executive director, 6X best-selling author, speaker, consultant, mental health proponent, community champion, women’s advocate, entrepreneurial strategist, columnist, and online show host. Mavis currently serves as the Executive Director of R3SM, Inc. (Recover, Rebuild, and Restore Southeast MS), a nonprofit founded following Hurricane Katrina specializing in restoration following disasters. Recently she established Mavis A. Creagh Consulting, LLC and We Women Ministries. She has extensive knowledge of recovery following natural disasters with a foundation in revitalizing communities, philanthropy, and economic development. Over the past six years, Mavis provided oversight of 31 new constructions, 200+ repair projects, and over 7 million dollars in volunteer labor and donations throughout the State of Mississippi.
Mavis is a 1998 graduate of Hattiesburg High School and completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Mississippi State University. Currently, she is enrolled at William Carey University, pursuing a master’s degree in counseling psychology. She is active on multiple boards and committees, including Mississippi VOAD (Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster), Disaster Leadership Training that provides National Mentorship, National VOAD Housing Committee, NAMI Mississippi/NAMI Pine Belt (National Alliance on Mental Illness), and the Housing Chair, MS State Conference NAACP.
Most recently, she was awarded the Top 10 Business Woman by The Mississippi Business Journal in 2022. She is scheduled to receive the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award this June in Miami, Florida, for her service dedication. One of her proudest accomplishments is being the mother to her amazing teenage son, Jordan, a trained chef and basketball enthusiast.
In addition, she serves on multiple regional boards, including Women Business Owners of the Pine Belt, Pine Belt Veteran Task Force, and Purple Heart Homes Pine Belt.
