James 'Jim' Grubbs has been appointed as the interim principal of Hattiesburg High School by the Hattiesburg Public Schools Board of Trustees. Grubbs, who has been with the district for 16 years and served as assistant principal for eight years, expressed his excitement and gratitude for the new role. He looks forward to continuing the school's legacy of excellence with the support of students, staff, parents, and the community.
On Tuesday, the Hattiesburg Public Schools Board of Trustees unanimously voted to appoint James 'Jim' Grubbs as the interim principal of Hattiesburg High School. Grubbs has been with Hattiesburg Public Schools for 16 years, including eight years as assistant principal under Dr. Victor Hubbard's leadership.
"I am thrilled to announce my appointment as the principal of Hattiesburg High School. Over the past 16 years, the support from students, staff, parents, and the community has been immeasurable," said Grubbs, settling into his new, yet familiar, office.
Grubbs, who began his career in education as a substitute teacher before becoming a full-time teacher and then an administrator, is no stranger to the field.
"I look forward to continuing the legacy of greatness at Hattiesburg High School," he added.
Mr. Grubbs is excited and humbled to accept this position with the community's strong support.
