PRESS RELEASE FROM MISSISSIPPI POWER NEWS CENTER
Mississippi Power and Kona Ice partnered up this week to provide snow cones to approximately 2,500 students and teachers at Hattiesburg Public Schools.
The “Stay Safe and Cool in School” campaign brought flavors like pina colada, watermelon, and grape to the schools. For students at N.R. Burger Middle School, nicknamed the Tigers, a popular choice of flavor was tiger’s blood.
“It’s a great day to be a Tiger! I am so grateful for Mississippi Power and Kona Ice partnering together to provide our teachers and students with snow cones,” said Principal Carol Jones. “It means so much for businesses to show appreciation to our school district. It encourages us to continue to push forward in our quest for academic excellence.”
Aside from the snow cone, students got to keep their cup with the Mississippi Power logo.
“We all know how important it is to stay hydrated during the hottest months of the year,” Northern Division Manager Michael Harvey said. “Partnering with Kona Ice presented a great chance to share that message with students in a fun, delicious way.”
